Since it was founded
in 1991, NANJO and ASSOCIATES has planned and implemented numerous
projects and programs related to Japanese, Asian and international
art and architecture. In particular, the staff of NANJO and
ASSOCIATES have curated exhibitions of contemporary art, have
coordinated art related symposia, and have edited and published
catalogues and books on contemporary art and architecture. We
have also planned, curated and overseen a numerous number of
public art and corporate art projects.
In addition to the activities
of NANJO and ASSOCIATES, the related non-profit organization,
Arts Initiative Tokyo, has operated and planned a wide range
of art programs such as art education programs and artist
in residence program in Tokyo. Arts Initiative Tokyo particularly
focuses on building art related programs to contribute to
our society and international art world for our future.
Art has existed as a means of human expression since the time
of the rock paintings in Tassili-n-Ajjer and Lascau. NANJO
and ASSOCIATES intends to continue to undertake new tasks
from global viewpoint and to ask what kind of culture or art
we should bequeathed to our descendants.
